From our modest beginnings of selling magazines and cigars in the 30's to our present operation, we have maintained the same vision, "Always have what the customer needs when they need it".

Today that translates to a staff of more than 35 employees and a selection of over 65,000 items on a daily basis. Although we no longer offer magazines and cigars, we strive always to have the necessities of daily life. So, today at Cliff's you can find everything from tiaras to tape measures, and as always, if you don't find what you need, we will do our best to find a way to get it.

Cliff's also believes in being a responsible community member. Beginning in the 1950's with the creation of a neighborhood Halloween contest we have always maintained a close connection with the Castro community. As part of that commitment we have chosen to be an active partner in the SF Environment recycling program offering a drop off site for household fluorescent bulbs and latex paints.

As a result of our unique product selection and dedicated customer service we have received numerous awards and accolades over the years. In fact it seems people everywhere are talking about Cliff's. A recent Google search turned up great reviews by local visitors at Yelp as well as numerous individuals' recollections of their personal experiences at Cliff's.
